Yoga for the muscles, Diet for the Stomach

Our body has been designed to follow a defined daily routine which includes sleep, exercise, food, and water consumption. This in turn helps to activate our internal organs to function the other processes and ensure a healthy lifestyle. As we progress in age, our priorities keep changing and we tend to neglect our health which in turn results in different kinds of health issues.

Diabetes is one such disease caused due to stress, genetics, and lifestyle factors. In a healthy body, the insulin hormone helps to control glucose levels in the body. Insulin in general has a wide range of psychological processes which affect its synthesis and secretion. Lack of proper timely diet, regular exercise, and progress in our age added with stress or family genetics can affect the secretion of Insulin leading to a different type of diabetes.

Ayurveda emphasises the importance of time management for food consumption for Diabetes. A healthy diet routine plays a crucial role to maintain the insulin balance in the system.

Foods recommended:

  1. Millet varieties such as Ragi, Barley, Jowar and Bajra are rich in fibre and minerals. This also helps to keep the blood sugar steady, lower cholesterol and lose weight.
