Iyengar Yoga, as it is known today, was developed and systematized by our Guruji, Yogacharya B.K.S. Iyengar, more than 75 years ago. He spent his entire life perfecting his yoga method, which is based on the conventional eight limbs of yoga devised by the great sage Patanjali over 2,500 years ago.
Guruji formulated his own version of yoga with the idea that it is more than just a physical practice; it is a synthesis of art, science, and philosophy. He developed and produced many props to help practitioners fully master any pose. Iyengar yoga regularly practiced unifies the body, mind, and emotions.
The use of props increases the body’s openness and comprehension. They offer aid to less accomplished students who need it to perfect the Asana/Pose and extra extensions for more advanced students.
Each lesson is specifically designed to lead learners through a secure and orderly path. Students acquire vitality, clarity, and calm by learning to transcend the physical body and access the inner koshas (layers) of mind, energy, and spirit through expert instruction and practice.
This makes Iyengar Yoga a potent discipline that can be practiced at any stage of life. You can benefit greatly from it at any stage of daily life.
